The Seattle Mariners recently announced that Optum Washington has entered into a multiyear agreement to be its sole primary care partner. Optum Washington is made up of The Polyclinic and The Everett Clinic.

As part of this agreement, The Polyclinic and The Everett Clinic will use their expertise to help people live healthier lives. They'll also recognize individuals who have made a positive difference in the Puget Sound area.

Hometown All-Stars

This season, the Mariners will honor community members who help make our region a better place to live. This includes people who helped it stay vital and strong during the COVID-19 pandemic. These individuals will be highlighted during select home games and online.

People from all walks of life will be honored, including:

  • First responders
  • Health care professionals
  • Grocery store workers and bus drivers
  • Volunteers and others doing essential jobs

The Mariners and Optum will also create videos that tell the stories of the Hometown All-Stars. Polyclinic and Everett Clinic doctors, care team members and patients will be featured. Videos will be shared on mariners.com and the team’s official social media accounts.

Hits for Hearts

In addition, the partnership supports the American Heart Association (AHA). Optum will make a financial gift to the AHA for every hit by a Mariners player at T-Mobile Park.

Hits for Hearts results will be shared in a pregame presentation at the end of the regular season. Representatives from the Mariners, Optum and the AHA will be there.

“Optum is honored to support the Mariners as its exclusive primary care partner,” said Dr. Imelda Dacones, president of Optum Washington. “Together, The Polyclinic and The Everett Clinic have nearly 200 years of history in providing high-quality care in the Puget Sound.

"Working together as Optum, we’re proud to partner with the Mariners to support our Hometown All-Stars. We’re also proud to address and raise awareness of issues related to health, wellness and health equity."
