Minimally invasive surgery is done using special equipment, including tiny cameras and surgical instruments. These allow the surgeon to see inside the body and do surgery through small incisions instead of larger cuts. This causes less damage to the tissue.

There are many advantages to this type of surgery, including:

  • Less muscle injury
  • Less blood loss
  • Less post-operative pain
  • Faster rehabilitation and healing
  • Smaller scars after surgery
  • Getting back to daily life sooner

If your quality of life continues to be affected after nonsurgical treatment, surgery may be the best choice. Our spine surgeon, Sean Keem, MD, is an expert in handling even the most challenging cases.
