Wei Hao MD, PhD

Dr. Wei Hao received his medical degree from Beijing Medical University in Beijing, China. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a residency in Internal Medicine at the East Carolina University School of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in endocrinology at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Hao specializes in diabetes and endocrinology, and sees patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, thyroid disorders, calcium and metabolic bone diseases, gonadal disorders, adrenal and pituitary disorders, and multiple endocrine neoplasia syndromes. He has a special interest in the management of type 1 diabetes with insulin pump therapy.
When not at work, Dr. Hao enjoys reading, outdoor activities, and traveling.

Dr. Hao has a long-standing research interest in the autoimmune pathogenesis, prevention and intervention of type 1 diabetes. In addition to his clinical role at The Polyclinic, he is also a clinical investigator at the Benaroya Research Institute, participating in NIH-sponsored Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet and Immune Tolerance Network (ITN) for clinical trials of type 1 diabetes.
