Text

"One of our core strengths has been exploring new reimbursement models and strategic partnerships to help reduce costs while maintaining high-quality patient care."

Denis McDonald joined The Polyclinic in 2001 as an administrator. Today, he oversees the development, operations and growth of our managed care businesses. These include Physicians Care Network (PCN) and Physicians Care Alliance (PCA).

McDonald also played a key role in establishing PCA, a physician-led network of practices in the Pacific Northwest. Its mission is to help physician practices survive and thrive in the new health care environment.

In 2012, The Polyclinic was the first medical group in the state to be approved as a Shared Savings Program Accountable Care Organization. McDonald oversees this program. It allows us to provide high-quality care to Medicare patients while reducing overall costs.

McDonald is also responsible for our revenue cycle, customer service, coding, compliance, HIPAA, physician compensation and managed care departments. His many accomplishments include:

  • Launching new practice management software and online bill pay
  • Improving coding training and accuracy
  • Significantly increasing insurance pre-authorizations and follow up

Earlier in his career, McDonald was deputy director and chief operating officer (COO) for University Physicians Associates in Albuquerque, NM. He was also COO of the faculty group practice at Tufts University School of Medicine.
