Education and Background
Dr. Smyth received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Penn. She completed her internal medicine residency at The University of Washington and was chief medical resident at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Seattle. Before joining The Polyclinic, she practiced at Minor and James Medical for nearly 15 years.
Dr. Smyth enjoys treating both men and women, from age 16 and above. She is interested in preventive medicine as well as managing chronic medical conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
“I practice evidence-based medicine but am open to alternative medicine as well. I believe in individualizing each patient’s care, and practicing with empathy and compassion.”
In her spare time Dr. Smyth enjoys reading, running, cheering on the Seahawks, and going to her children’s soccer games and recitals.
