Crystal Houlton MD, FACOG
American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology
Fellow, American Congress of Obstetricians & Gynecologists
Dr. Houlton was born and raised in Texas and received her undergraduate degree from Baylor University. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Cincinnati. Before joining The Polyclinic, Dr. Houlton practiced at Minor & James Medical which then merged with Swedish OBGYN Specialists at First Hill.
“I grew up in a family of nurses and was one of those people who said, ‘I always knew I wanted to be a doctor.’ However, it wasn’t until my mother passed away that I realized how one physician can have such an impact on someone’s life. That reminder is a constant influence on the quality of care that I try to provide my patients every day.”
Dr. Houlton provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecology services, and has a special interest in contraception management, preconception counseling, obstetrics, abnormal uterine bleeding, and midlife women’s health issues. She also performs gynecologic surgery with a focus on minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her husband and three children. They love to travel, hike, and ski together. She also loves to paint, dance, and her new-found hobby is learning to write in modern calligraphy.
“I want to give my patients a patient-focused, personalized approach, a compassionate and nurturing environment, and a level of customer service not commonly found in today’s clinical setting. I ultimately would like to use my expertise to provide evidence-based, comprehensive care for women throughout their lifetime; centering my practice with a solid obstetrics and gynecology foundation, and providing education and easy access to the subspecialties most pertinent to women’s health issues.”
