The Polyclinic Orthopedics Department is pleased to welcome Dr. Jim C. Hsu, shoulder, elbow and knee surgeon and fellowship trained sports medicine physician. Dr. Hsu sees patients at The Polyclinic Madison Center and The Polyclinic Northgate Plaza.
Dr. Hsu is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Hsu has extensive experience in minimally invasive and arthroscopic surgical techniques, with thousands of arthroscopic procedures performed, such as arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic shoulder instability and labral repair, elbow ligament repair and reconstruction, including the "Tommy John procedure," ACL reconstruction, and arthroscopic meniscal tear treatment.
Dr. Hsu received his medical degree, with Distinction in Research, from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in New York. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles. Dr. Hsu continues to play an active role in Seattle-area athletic life.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Hsu has qualified and run in multiple Boston, Chicago, and New York City marathons. He finds his own effort toward the ever-elusive running improvement a constant reminder to empathize with his patients' intense interest in their pursuits. He also tries to find time to play and attend music performances to gratify his lifelong interest in classical music and violin performance.
Welcome to The Polyclinic, Dr. Hsu!
