The Polyclinic Orthopedics Department is pleased to welcome Dr. Daniel Schwartz, shoulder and elbow surgeon. Dr. Schwartz sees patients at The Polyclinic Madison Center, 4th floor and The Polyclinic Northgate Plaza, 3rd floor.
Dr. Schwartz received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University, two years of fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery with one year of training with world-renowned French surgeons, Drs. Laurent Lafosse and Pascal Boileau. He also completed an accredited fellowship with the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons in Tampa, Florida. Before joining The Polyclinic, Dr. Schwartz practiced at The Sports Medicine Clinic at UW Medicine since 2013.
Dr. Schwartz’s clinical interests include sports-, work-, and overuse-related injuries of the shoulder and elbow including:
Arthroscopic management of rotator cuff injuries, shoulder arthritis necessitating either anatomic shoulder replacement (arthroplasty) or reverse shoulder replacement (arthroplasty), shoulder tendonitis, shoulder instability, recurrent shoulder instability requiring advanced arthroscopic boney augmentation (arthroscopic latarjet or Hill-Sachs Remplissage), arthroscopic management of shoulder separation, impingement, acromioclavicular arthritis, proximal humerus fractures, suprascapular nerve entrapment, elbow arthritis, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow and elbow pain.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Schwartz enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
