“I was initially inspired to become a physician through a fascination with biology and enriching volunteer experiences in medicine. And my parents encouraged me to find a career that coupled individual passion with community service. Today, I find joy and fulfillment in cultivating the patient-physician relationship and improving people’s lives.”
Dr. Sorensen believes in the importance of engaging with each patient’s unique perspectives and goals to develop a personalized treatment plan. He strives to create a welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds. He embrace collaboration, continual learning, and the values of honesty, humility, and integrity.
His clinical interests include skin cancer detection and surgery, psoriasis, eczema, hidradenitis suppurativa, skin allergy and patch testing, medication reactions, blistering skin disease, skin disease in transplant and cancer patients, and teledermatology.
Outside of work, Dr. Sorensen enjoys hiking and backpacking. He says that reconnecting with the natural world is how he stays balanced and grounded. He also enjoys drawing, painting portraits, and visiting art museums. He believes that cultivating an artistic, creative side improves medical practice.
