The Polyclinic is pleased to offer Drive-Through Testing for patients with COVID-19 symptoms at our Madison Center and Northgate Plaza clinic locations, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. All testing is by appointment only. Patients can contact our Nurse Triage Line at 206.860.5319 to speak with one of our registered nurses who can determine if you are eligible for Drive-Through Testing* and help schedule an appointment.
Less Invasive Test Collection Method
The Polyclinic is using a newly developed, less invasive method to collect test samples at the Drive-Through Testing site and in our acute respiratory clinics. The self-directed collection uses a small swab that patients can insert into each nostril themselves to easily and more comfortably collect their own sample, put into a vial, and give back to the clinical staff onsite. This method doesn’t trigger patients to sneeze, cough or gag as the traditional provider-collected method does using a longer swap inserted deep into the nasal cavity. As a result, staff don’t need to wear a full suit of personal protective equipment for testing. Once the sample is collected it’s sent to a lab for processing and patients will receive the results in two to five days.
Drive-Through Testing enables The Polyclinic to:
- Support social distancing measures that are the single most-effective way to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 infection in our community.
- Preserve personal protective equipment (PPE) that is in short supply around the country and needed by health care workers to manage urgent and emergency care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Increase COVID-19 testing to provide critical data that can support population-based public health decisions both regionally and nationally.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your provider’s office to schedule.
