Polyclinic internist, Dr. Ralph Rossi, has been named a board officer of the Washington State Medical Association (WSMA) for the 2016-2017 year. Dr. Rossi was elected to this position by the WSMA Nomination Committee.
The WSMA strives to improve the quality of care for patients and shape the future of medicine in Washington state through physician leadership, collaboration and advocacy. The organization represents over 9,600 physicians and surgeons in the state. Dr. Rossi says the WSMA will be addressing physician burnout, patient safety and engagement, and national legislative issues during his time as a board member.
“I was drawn to this active and vibrant organization by some of my past work in health care,” Dr. Rossi shared. “There are many initiatives that we will address this year and I am very excited to work with a collaborative group of physicians with the WSMA.”
Volunteer leadership is nothing new to Dr. Rossi. He also served as chairman for The Polyclinic Board of Directors for five years and is currently the chairman of Physicians Insurance, the largest provider of liability insurance to health care providers in the Northwest.
A Polyclinic physician for 19 years, Dr. Rossi earned a medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, and completed both an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington. He completed a fellowship in health services, with an emphasis on health economics, and holds a master's degree in public health. A respected physician in the Seattle community, Dr. Rossi has consistently been named to Seattle Magazine and Seattle Metropolitan's Top Doctors list.
