The Polyclinic is pleased to announce of the addition of Peter Casterella, MD to The Polyclinic Cardiology at Madison Center.

Dr. Casterella received his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency at Naval Medical Center Oakland, Calif., and his fellowship training at Naval Medical Center San Diego in general cardiology and at Scripps Clinic in interventional cardiology.

Dr. Casterella comes to The Polyclinic from Swedish Heart and Vascular Clinic. Since 2001, he has worked in various private practices, including Scripps Clinic, Intermountain Health Care Utah Heart Clinic, and Seattle Cardiology. He treats a broad range of conditions and diagnoses as a general cardiologist and also has special interests in coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease evaluation, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and genetic defects of the heart such as Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) and Atrial Septal Defect (ASD).

Growing up, his relationship with his pediatrician, whom he saw as a role model, sparked his interest in medicine and helped shape his aspirations for a career in medicine. “I enjoy working collaboratively with patients and other medical colleagues to ensure that patients under my care receive the best-possible treatment to improve their health,” said Dr. Casterella. “I view medical care as a partnership using shared decision-making to find the best approach for each individual patient.”

Outside of work, Dr. Casterella enjoys spending time with his family and dog, exercising, hiking, reading, Sudoku puzzles, cooking, and supporting local sports teams.

Welcome to The Polyclinic, Dr. Casterella!
