Complete Glaucoma and Cataract Care

Glaucoma Consultants Northwest at The Polyclinic is recognized for our glaucoma and cataract expertise. Our board certified opthalmology specialists, Annisa Jamil MD and Jeffrey Kennedy MD, have more than 10 years of combined experience diagnosing and treating conditions related to glaucoma and cataract cases.

Many of our patients come to us for an initial diagnosis but we also see patients who are referred to our clinic or who seek a second opinion.

We use the latest technology in diagnostic and treatment tools to offer the most progressive and complete care. When possible, we offer minimally invasive procedures such as iStent, Trabectome and endocyclophotocoagulation.

Our Services

  • Glaucoma Care.
    • Glaucoma can develop without any warning signs or symptoms. Patients often have no pain or loss of vision in the early stages. In many types of glaucoma, increased eye pressure damages the delicate nerve fibers of the optic nerve. When a significant number of nerve fibers are damaged, blind spots develop in the field of vision. The disease is chronic and progressive. When left untreated, glaucoma can lead to permanent loss of peripheral vision and blindness. While there is no cure for glaucoma, we can slow its progression by controlling eye pressure with a range of treatments including medications, lasers and surgery. Learn more about glaucoma.
  • Cataract Care.
    • A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens of the eye. As the lens becomes increasingly cloudy, light rays are prevented from focusing on the retina. Cataracts are a part of the natural aging process of the eyes, but can be caused or worsened by a variety of factors including exposure to ultraviolet light, eye injuries, certain infections or diseases and steroid use.
