Matthew Phelps DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Phelps earned his doctor of podiatric medicine degree with honors at the California College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed a podiatric surgical residency at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital in Fountain Valley, California.
Dr. Phelps’ special interests include the treatment of pain, deformity and tissue damage resulting from metabolic, arthritic, mechanical, infectious or traumatic causes. Dr. Phelps also treats a broad range of foot issues that can affect function and diminish quality of life. He works closely with diabetes patients, as diabetes can cause serious complications involving the feet. Damaged nerve fibers and reduced blood flow can result in increased likelihood of injury and wounds that don’t heal normally. He works with these patients to not only treat these problems, but also takes preventive measures to reduce the risk of these complications.
“I strive to provide the highest level of measured and thorough care in a manner that reflects the needs, concerns and wishes of my patients."
