Family Medicine
The term “family doctor” elicits images of a time when doctors traveled by horse and buggy to care for patients in the comfort of their own home. While times have changed, a family’s need for personal, quality care remains. The physicians who make up The Polyclinic’s family medicine group believe that establishing relationships with your entire family builds a foundation for a lifetime of health.
The Polyclinic Downtown’s family medicine department encompasses all areas of general health care including pediatric and adolescent health, women’s health and gynecology, men’s health, and sexual minority issues.
The family medicine department is also equipped to perform minor surgical procedures, and offers more specialized treatments such as the medical management of obesity, no-scalpel vasectomies, mole, wart and blemish removal and cosmetic procedures including Botox®, Restylane®, sclerotherapy, and treatment of spider veins.
Internal Medicine
Your internal medicine physician (also called an internist) is experienced in all aspects of general health care for both men and women, through all ages of adult life. The Polyclinic’s internal medicine physicians have an interest in both the science and the art of medicine. They have a great interest in up-to-date, evidence-based medicine, but they also possess an active interest in who you are, and in tailoring care to what’s important to you.
Dermatology
The Polyclinic’s reputable dermatology department has expanded to downtown – offering both general dermatology care as well as cosmetic procedures. The dermatologists at The Polyclinic Downtown enjoy helping patients of all ages – infants, adolescents, and adults – achieve healthy, beautiful skin.
Patients see our dermatologists for a wide variety of medical reasons including acne, eczema, moles, rosacea, skin cancer, wart removal, and other skin concerns. Our experienced dermatologists offer many cosmetic services as well including Botox®, Restylane®, laser hair removal, laser treatment of facial redness, and sclerotherapy. Our licensed clinical aesthetician is also available for skin care consultations as well as treatments including chemical peels, microdermabrasions, facials, and the new HydraFacial™ system.
Rheumatology
Our board-certified rheumatologists are internal medicine specialists who have additional training and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis and related disabling disorders of the joints, muscles and bones. By working closely with you, they will create an individualized treatment program to ensure comfort and long-term well-being.
