Education:
A native of eastern Washington, Dr. Stevens graduated from Whitman College and was subsequently attracted to medicine while a Peace Corps volunteer. He received his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, and later completed his family medicine residency in Seattle. Afterwards he opened Northwest Family Medicine in Ballard, where he continues in group practice. Dr. Stevens has been very active in his profession, having served both as chief of family medicine and chief of staff for Ballard Hospital. A former trustee on the board of Swedish Medical Center, he also served several years as member on the board of King County Medical Society and a term as its president in 2000. Dr. Stevens is currently a member of the board of directors for the Polyclinic Community Health Foundation and recently was invited to join the physicians’ advisory group for the Puget Sound Health Alliance.
Special Interests:
Dr. Stevens’ practice encompasses all areas of general health care and he sees patients of all ages. He also has a long-term interest and practice in vasectomy.
